Bear Peak Power is pleased to share an update on our proposed BPP MD Fruitland PV I LLC Community Solar Project in Wicomico County, Maryland.
The proposed 4 MWac project has applied for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) from the Maryland Public Service Commission under Case No. 9894. Once operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 7.94 million kWh of clean energy annually, equivalent to powering approximately 774 homes, avoiding 4,855 metric tons of carbon emissions, and removing the equivalent of 1,132 vehicles from the road each year.
The project will provide additional local benefits through construction jobs, tax revenue, opportunities for Delmarva customers to subscribe to locally produced clean energy, and the use of Maryland-based businesses and service providers. The design also preserves the majority of existing trees, adds native pollinator-friendly vegetative screening, and keeps the land available for future agricultural use.
